Default OESFD OOP headsup.

Semi-hyptothetical situation, played a hand like this a few weeks ago now I can't find the HH. Not an awful spot to be in, just curious how people would play it.

Full ring NLHE, three limps, SB completes, you knock in BB with Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

Flop comes J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. You lead for pot 5x. Only guy in MP calls, he is not very good and moderatly aggressive, not a total donk though.

Turn is A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Pot at 15x.

How much you bet it?

Just check and call. You really don't want to bet and have him come over the top of you.

I'd suggest betting 1/2 the pot. I think it would act as a blocking bet, has a chance of having him fold AND if he calls, you're getting proper pot odds PLUS if you hit any of your draws, you're likely to get more. If you miss, I'd say you invested the minimum while controlling the betting and not inducing a bet from him larger then you want to call.

I worry that by checking, he will signal that he's on a draw and induce a larger bet then he wants to call. Plus, if he hits, the villain is less pot committed. Furthermore, if the villain is on a draw, there's no chance he'll fold if hero checks.

I prefer to control the betting and lead. If he was in late position, then I would agree that he could check behind on the turn.
