Default My worst bad beat $$$$ wise

10-20nl at Binions a few years back. This hand is significant in that it's my most awesome bad beat and illustrates why I don't play nl (because I suck).

I sit down at the table and in the first 5 hands the old dude on my right torches ~8k on ill advised bluffs and crying calls. My sweet laser precision read is that he's steaming. My suspicions are confirmed when he kills it UTG (he has me way covered).

I'm next to act with JJ. JJ is one of the sweetest hands you can get in nl. It's practically the nuts. Since I have the nuts I raise it up to $200. I have $2800 behind. Too bad for me the rest of the table thinks I'm trying to isolate the crazy old dude with some BS nl hand. Little do they know I have the mighty JJ. 6 people call the $200 behind me.

Flop: 2-3-5 rainbow.

The Big Steamer checks. I'm pretty sure someone has top two pairs so I check. Everyone checks to the button who goes all in for $800. Big Steamer calls the $800. I decided that only an idiot would slow play two pairs with that many people in the pot. My hand must be good so I push all in. The Big Steamer calls.

Turn: 2-3-5 (3)

River: 2-3-5 (3) (3)

Before opening my hand the Big Steamer flips over A-4o and growls "man I been takin it up my fvckin azz all day."

It took the will power of 1000 mortal men for me to not piss my pants laughing at the table. Lucky for me I'm Boris.
