What's the purpose in straddling? Why would avo straddle if he's a pro poker player. I thought it was the worst bet in poker....

Bart and Dave,
Are the stakes of each poker game an important component part of the game? By that I mean, should a .25/.50 poker limit game be played the same as say a 10-20, or 20-40 limit game assuming the same players and same values for money are the same. I hope you understand my question. I'm not sure I understand it, thanks.

Some people make it to establish a loose table image and loosen up the game, it is a bad bet but one that gets noticed. Besides if you do straddle and have a big hand they never ever believe you and get paid off.
