Hey bud, I haven't read the rest of the thread, so I'm grunching this, but here's my take on what "grunching" means.

It means that you should post your action, as well as your explanation for why you take that action, before reading the rest of the thread.

Not just your kneejerk thing.

You should read the rest of the thread, afterwards, for your own edification.

as well as your explanation

very good point. we should spread the word that this is intrinsic to proper grunching.

I do dislike "fold pre-flo, bet the turn, fold the river" posts. WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY tell us WHY do you recomend your line?

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm not entirely fond of these type posts either. But after having the light bulb come on after being hit by one of these type replies and going through the process of typing out my own reply and trying to figure out why someone would say something like this.... Well I'm a little more tolerant now.

If someone says "raise the turn" and you just can't imagine where they could find a line like that... well try. You'll be amazed sometimes what you can come up w/yourself.

Default to grunch

grunching, as far as i can tell, is a fairly new development here at the micro forums (do HUSH and SS grunch?)

it refers to posting your thoughts and ideas on a hand prior to reading other posters' responses.

I've been known to make cryptic responses in this forum, but I never make them in the SS forum; do you see why? Of course, I'm glad to elaborate when questioned.

Its when someone replies to a hand post without reading any of the previous responses, to not be influenced by any of them. Its all good, except when it gets in the way of discussions about the hands.
