Default 88 question

5/$1 no-limit ring at Pacific. Table is full with 10 people.

Hero ($102): 3 off the button so late middle position, 8 , 8

UTG fold, UTG+1 fold, UTG+2 call, UGT+3 fold, Hero calls, Hero + 1(villan $92) calls, cutoff folds, button calls, SB completes, BB checks. 6 see the flop
Flop: 8 , T , 7
Checked around to Hero, hero bets $4 into a $5.70 pot. Villan raises it to $8. Folded around to Hero. Hero raises to $12. Villan pushes all in. Hero???

Villan is new to the table so not much of a read on him yet. Without any raises pre-flop could have just about anything I would think: 78, T8, TT, 77, J9, JQ, 9Q, AT. What do you do and why?

Will post what I did later.

what were the suits of the flop?

I don't like your min re-raise. I'd make it $30 or so. Or maybe push.

I would call the all in. There's not many hands you are way behind and there plenty of hands you are way ahead of.

Cut from the other forum didn't carry the suits.

Here they are again:

Hero: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Flop: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] so its going to take a runner-runner for a flush.

You're probably up against a made hand but you have outs. And if you're up against 77, T7, T8, 78, AT, KT, QT, JT you're in great shape. I would probably call because you'll see two pair or even a badly played overpair (JJ/QQ) make this move often enough to show a profit I believe.

And if he's playing J9 with players yet to act behind him (in usually raising positions CO/BTN) you should add him to your buddy list.
