Default Tipping waitresses during MTT

Wasn't sure if this should go here or the multi-table board but decided to post it here since its specific to b&m cardrooms.

Part of your tourney fee typically covers the dealers tip in advance but how do you handle tipping the waitresses during a long tournament? I'm certainly not going to be giving them a tournament chip (especially if you're at the final table). Do folks just take a bunch of low bills with them to cover this through out the tournament? Bill it too your room if you're staying at the casino?

thanks,
Geng

You got to tip'em. Get a stack of white to tip with.

Either have small bills in your pocket or get a stack of whites, but definitely tip them.

Ive had times where I get a drink during a MTT, realize I have no small bills and told the waitress I will take care of them later... they are always surprised when I actually follow through

You gotta tip. Like everyone else has said $1 or a $1 chip.

Also if you finish in the top 5 or so it's customary to tip the final table dealer as well.

It's always a good idea to find out from the onset if there's a dealer "juice" up front. If not, ALWAYS tip the dealers when you cash in a tourney. Slipping one dealer a $20 , although appreciated by the one dealer, is not fair to the other dealers that worked just as hard.

If you have no small bills, I'm quite sure the waitress will be glad to make change for you.

Is a $1 tip to a waitress pretty standard for whatever you order? I've heard of people ordering sandwiches and other stuff, practically an entire meal; do you give the waitress just a dollar even in these situations, or is it just for a drink? Pretty dumb question, huh, but I'm a total noob re B&M.

I'd say a standard tip is 15-20% of the cost of the order or $1, whichever is more.
