I think the river call is fine, often times when someone doesn't hit the flush, they come out betting hoping you fold. You lose this most of the time, but gettting 7 to 1, it is probably good often enough to call.

This could well be the check-check-bet routine from a pair of 6/7's or worse 9. This is particularly likely to happen on a scare river, because villain is not fearing a raise.

On the other hand, the opponents stats would suggest that he may not be that sophisticated. However, I would think that you are still good here often enough.

Are your hand good here 1/8 times... that's what it comes down to... I would call with some discomfort.

Am I missing why this isn't a really easy call?

The longer I think about this the more I have a weird feeling, but probably I am overthinking this. The most obvious thing is Txc. (Maybe even the 6c).

Bottomline, I would make the call expecting to see at least the Tc. Otherwise I could only imagine that he came along with any 2 overcards and then you are good more then 1-7...
