Pokertracker question for 6 max - Aces underperforming??
I just recently played 26,000+ hands of 5-10 6max. I am beating the game for a pretty good amount, so I do not have too many complaints. However, there is one stat that struck my as rather strange. My pocket aces are running at 2.00 bb/100. I have played a lot of online poker, mostly full games, and previously my aces have always run at 2.5 bb/100+. During this recent stretch I have gotten aces 125 times, so the difference between 2.0 & 2.5 is $875, no small change.
I was just wondering if this low number is a reflection of playing 6 max as opposed to 9 or 10 handed and if anyone else had similar stats at 6 max. Or perhaps this is just standard deviation and 26,000 hands isn't enough to reach expectation. Or perhaps they were just running real good before and this is their actual expectation. (which I seriously doubt). |

Re: Pokertracker question for 6 max - Aces underperforming??
I am at 2.6 after 45,000 hands. I would say that it is just variance. You have only had 125 hands of AA, that is not a very large sample size. Just out of curiosity do you ever slow play AA, or always raise PF?

Variance
my 39 aces are only at .4BB/hand after 10k hands of 5/10, winning 64% of the time it happens. my kings are running at 2.42 fwiw |

I always play it full speed before the flop. I figure, "might as well punish them when I know I am still ahead." Maybe I should start limp reraising and see if this helps. Donno, something to think about though.

i've had a 20k stretch where AA was my 3rd winningest hand at 1.8. its just variance.

current db - 2.1BB/hand (not per 100...) over 27k hands
previous db - 3.4BB/hand over >40k hands. |

Re: Pokertracker question for 6 max - Aces underperforming??
As of today after 10.7k hands at 10/20 I am -$96 with AA (don't have the BB/hand numbers with me)and FWIW i've been pretty successful so far at 10/20. Anybody else run longer losing money with AA?

Re: Pokertracker question for 6 max - Aces underperforming??
Yeah, I meant 2.0 bb/hand, not 2.0 bb/100. Still, it is amazing the variance inherit in Texas HE, and a little scary how long the long run really is. By the way, on a side note, does anyone have an idea if there is a standard expectation for AA (bb/hand) in the LONG run, assuming you are a decent player and can fold on the turn when caught in a raising war with 3 others on a 78910 board. Just curious.

No offense, but I can't believe you're beating 5/10 6-max and asking this question.
