Default A4s - what do you think of this?

Party 5/10. Just sat down and posted my BB, and I'm dealt A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. EP and MP limp, MP2 raises, rest fold, I call, limpers call. 4 to the Flop, 4bb.

Flop: Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

It's checked to MP2 who bets. I raise.

I make this raise when I know I can get MP2 heads up, which is often with only two other opponetns. The times you pick up your run offs or 2-pair/trips will make up for the times you get cold callers and a 3-bet.

Added: Therefore, I like it.

Peace,

Well, you guys didn't make this very interesting.

The limpers folded and MP2 called the raise.

Turn: K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

I bet, MP2 folded. Would you guys have bet again if the K on the Turn weren't a Diamond? In my experience, medium pocket pairs won't fold despite 2 overcards on board, and now AK beats me. However, I am getting pretty good odds on the bet hoping he will fold, and I of course have plenty of outs even without the diamond.

Hi joker,

Against AK, I am now of course drawing very thin. But I have 5 outs versus hands like JJ and TT, and I'm still ahead of AJ and AT. And 5 outs is plenty in a 6 big bet pot, where I'd have to call a bet if I checked anyways, and theres some chance he may fold or that I have the best hand. This is assuming the K on the Turn isn't a [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Like the play on all streets. I think you have to bet the turn against standard party opponents whether it is a [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] or not. If you get raised when the non-diamond hits you have a pretty easy fold. If I get called, I'm probably check-folding the river unless I improve.
