SB vs BB rock
The Villain is a rock. My read in the hand was that he had hit an 8 or an 7. perhaps a flush draw and that he wanted a showdown, though i thought that if i pressured he would fold.
My image is tight agressive, although i like to make stabs at the blinds and i think he knows that. comments please - button sitting in seat 1 with $76.00 - CO sitting in seat 2 with $397.85 - UTG sitting in seat 3 with $18.00 - MP sitting in seat 4 with $189.86 [Dealer] - Hero sitting in seat 5 with $197.00 - VILLAIN sitting in seat 6 with $344.69 Hero posted the small blind - $1.00 VILLAIN posted the big blind - $2.00 UTG posted to play - $2.00 ** Dealing card to Hero: 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] button folded CO folded UTG checked MP called - $2.00 Hero called - $2.00 VILLAIN checked ** Dealing the flop: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Hero checked VILLAIN bet - $4.00 UTG folded MP folded Hero raised - $15.00 VILLAIN called - $15.00 ** Dealing the turn: 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Hero bet - $36.00 VILLAIN called - $36.00 ** Dealing the river: J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero went all-in - $145.00 |

Re: SB vs BB rock

I am done after the flop, you can safely be done after the turn call...

Re: SB vs BB rock
i would fold pf.....but since u apparently think u can take this pot away (i mean i hope u are completing with 10 6 hoping to win with the best hand at showdown) i would raise pf if BB is rock....most of the time he folds anyway, and he should give weight to the fact u are raising from the worst position on the table. of course i wouldnt do this if MPlimper was a calling station, but if he is standard i would expect him to fold to ur c-bet often enough to make this play profitable.

Re: SB vs BB rock
Maybe if the river were the J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] this might be a good spot to bluff. However, this guy is a rock and he bet the flop, called a raise, called potsize turn bet. He is probably holding 2 pair or better and isn't normally folding here.

Re: SB vs BB rock
Ok, seems like the consensus is that it was a bad move. I really thought all he had was an 8 and that he was just getting stubborn on those mediumsized bets. I thought there was no way that he could call the river bet with just an 8 (or busted flushdraw).

Re: SB vs BB rock
Against a rock, this is spewing. Fold pre-flop, only Gus Hansen can win with 10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. If you must play, call his flop bet (a rock is not bluffing here). I would have not bet out the turn, but called his inevitable donk-like bet. Check/fold that river. Rocks are only easy to bluff once they indicate that they do not like their hand, this rock seems to like his hand quite a bit.
