Default Rake

Hi all!
How is rake calculated? Do you have to be in the pot to contribute to the rake or is it split between players sitting at the table?
I have heard that if there is 3 dollars in rake they split it with all the players sitting at the table.
Anyone know the fact?

some sites calculate this way, its listed in the T&C of the affiliate agreements available at most sites homepages. Or you would have to contact them directly.

It depends on exactly which site / software.

Some more common methods in determining rake contribution per player, per hand for revenue purposes:

1. gross method = rake / players
2. theoretical method = rake * (player's bets / final potsize)
3. modified theor. method1 = rake / players in the pot (saw flop)
4. modified theor. method2 = rake / players that had live hands when the pot was actually raked.
5. actual method = winner of pot

I think 1,2, and 5 are most common.
