Default Beating the Small Stakes Games!!

Before I read Small Stakes Hold'em, Poker Theory, and Inside the Poker Mind, I was breaking about even at the tables... Since reading these books I have bumped my hourly rate up by 5 bucks so far. I know the Small Stakes Hold'em book states more than once that mastering pre-flop play isn't as important as how you play the rest of the hand, but I feel that it is perhaps the best way to beat the small stakes tables. People will call anything, so the strategies that the book teaches don't have the same effects. What do you guys think??

I believe SSHE mentions value betting against calling stations repeatedly. Brief synopsis: Bluff and semi-bluff less, value bet a lot more.

You can beat most small stakes games simply by playing correctly preflop. You can beat them for more money by playing correctly both pre- and postflop. You will not beat most high stakes games without good postflop skills.

You want your opponents to make mistakes by making bad calls against your bets and raises. You won't make money at all if they don't.

The truth is mastering pre-flop play is much easier than mastering post-flop play, but playing well post-flop will be where most of your money comes from. Mastering post-flop play will also make the game more enjoyable because by mastering post-flop play, you will learn how to adjust your strategy to the opponets you are playing. You can do much better than an hourly rate of 5 dollars.
