Default Verizon Ringback

Does anyone have this or have you called anyone who uses it? It seems kinda cool, but also a waste of money. What do you think?

I have it. It costs me $1/month, and like $2 per tone. I get mixed reactions. Some people go, "holy [censored], that's cool." Other people go, "wow, that's really dumb." But I continue to pay it, and spend $2 regularly.

My buddy uses it. It's kinda cool, but it's also a waste of money.

Do you have different rings for different people? I am intrigued by this thing.

Is this when you call someone and don't hear the ringing, but music instead?

If so I think it's retarded. My roommate's phone suddenly started doing this, and the first few times I called I thought I had the wrong number, or he was in a no service area. So I hung up.

Brady,

My phone goes, "Please enjoy the music while your party is reached," before it catapults into whatever music I have selected. I've had people tell me they thought they had the wrong number, but that's pretty damn explanatory.

emon,

I have a couple different groups set up right now, yeah. So certain people hear one song (or a random selection from a group of songs), and certain other people hear others. Its so dumb and easy to set up... I never would have paid the $1/month, but a buddy of mine works for Verizon, and he hooked me up with my phone and plan, and he told me I had to have it. I was like, yeah, ok... and now I've spent easily $20 on stupid tones that people hear when they call me and think its not me.

Ah well. I like it.

Cingular is also offering this feature. They haven't made it public, but you can already get it on the phone. I called my friend a few days ago and kept listening to a vocal track from the Ying Yang twins.
