Default AQ in BB

normally this would be an auto-push, but villain had not raised in the ~25 hands of the tourney. he'd limped ~20% of the hands, if that matters. what's the play?

Your hand is just too strong to fold. I would probably call and commit my stack to a TPTK or TP2K flop.

No way I'm folding to a min raise here. You're only a big dog to QQ+, AK. I wouldn't necessarily put him on one of these hands just because he hasn't raised yet. I'd call and see a flop, and probably get all my money in if it comes A-high or Q-high.

ok, now what? my sense was that he was kinda loose, not too aggro.

Yeah, more or less. 2/3rds of the pot, anyway.

I dunno. . . if he's a tight raiser, the only hands you're ahead of are JJ/TT. You're way behind QQ/KK/AA/AK. Personally, I'd check & fold. The real chip accumulation should be starting next level. . . too risky here.
If he wasn't a tight raiser I think this would be a much more difficult decision. . . prolly still a check/fold though.

AQ seems to get me in a lot of trouble at the 1st 3 levels.

Ugh, tough situation. I don't think you have room to bet without committing yourself with only 500 left behind. Since you say he's loose, you'll have perceived short stack desperation on your side, your stack is too short to maneuver without committing yourself, I think I probably push here, but I'm not very happy about it. I don't want to fold, as I actually think there's a decent chance we're doing okay but not great against his range (even though he hasn't raised much, I think this can still easily be 99-JJ), and check-calling doesn't seem palatable to me here. I could easily be convinced that pushing is wrong.

Doesn't this bet pot commit us should villain push?

Hero would have t350 after his flop bet of t150. The pot would be t875 after a villain push. Hero is getting 2.5:1 and would have to call, right?

I don't see how betting out is good here, unless we push.
