They force bad players to play worse hands with bad implied and immediate odds so that there is only a PSB on the flop left in his stack. In sum they take away implied odds and exploit many players' tendencies to play too loosely in hopes to "hit a monster." They allow their small stack to encourage people to bluff them when opponents' bets actually have less weight.

[/ QUOTE ] If he is playing very tight preflop then he is probably playing at least decent as a shortstack. Also good shortstack players are not limping into the pot, except maybe on the button. They mostly raise or fold. This in itself however is not indicative of good shortstack play. But if he is playing tight and raising or folding, then he is probably the real deal.

i havent played poker recently so i've been out of the loop with the stat programs - i registered playerview earlier in the year. is PA HUD vastly better? thanks guys.

Maybe I thought he was playing in the Southern hemisphere, where, of course, the table action would be counterclockwise.

[/ QUOTE ] To determine left from right, I hold my two hands in front of me and make L shapes (thumb and index finger). Only with my left hand can I read the "L". The right hand shows a backwards "L". Note: this rule won't work if your'e dyslexic.
