Default Good Underground Music

What are some of your favorite bands that get little or no mainstream radio play?

Fugazi
Bright Eyes
The West Side Story Soundtack (okay, I am kidding)
Born Against
Shellac
Universal Order of Armageddon
Andrew W.K (another borderline one)
Elliot Smith
Green Day (only the first two: Kerplunk and 1,039 Smoothed..
The Promise Ring
Desaparecidos
Neutral Milk Hotel
God Speed! You Black Emperor
Social Distortion (that one is kind of pushing it I think)
Bedhead
The New Year
Dwight Yoakam
Nation of Ulysses
Public Enemy
Descendents
The Reverend Horton Heat
Moss Icon
Shudder to Think (only when they were on Dischord)
Bikini Kill (I love it in high school...when I moved to Porltand I realized how close I was to Kathleen Hanna. I am sure we will consumate our love any day now)
The Good Life (yet, I can't stand Cursive)

wow, I really can't think of anymore right now...but the top two are my all time favs. The rest are in no particular order. I guess I was not necessarily naming off all current bands either. I know there are so many more

you should really try to narrow down your request somewhat. otherwise, you're going to end up with a very unwieldy list of suggestions.

Are you just making a joke. I don't even listen to the radio very often, but I know these bands are played all the time.
