Default Fun internet poker statistic \"lol\"– 3/6 Party

I posted this on pokertracker forums a few months ago, I thought some folks here would get a kick out of it.

I did a study of players typing in “lol” into the chat screen on 3/6 limit tables. I took a sample of 500 hands in which this occurred, (this is for fun so I will not be doing a 100,000 hand sample), and here are the results of the stats that I followed.

88.6% of the time the person typing “lol” just lost a hand (443/500) = [A]
84.9% of [A] lost on the river (376/443)
66.8% of [A] lost to obvious mathematically incorrect decisions on flop/turn (296/443)
44.2% of [A] lost to bad starting hands IMHO (196/443)
18.3% of [A] the pot finished over $50 (81/443)
30.0% of [A] the player who typed “lol” followed up with name calling of the winner of the hand and/or foul language (133/443) = [B]
31.6% of [B] the winner of the hand responded in some fashion (42/133)
21.8% of [B] a third player had something to say (29/133)
17.3% of [B] the winner of the hand ended up leaving the table soon after (23/133)

Conclusion of the study: None
Usable Information: None

If anywhere on the internet you’ve ever wondered if someone was really laughing out loud, you can be pretty sure that around these sites the person is more likely to be throwing something, grinding their teeth, hitting something or being driven to mumble to themselves in a psychotic fashion.

Anyone have any similar studies?
