Default Is my call out of line?

$200NL on PartyPoker

Reads: UTG is limping every hand and is VERY weak calling
hands preflop.

Villian is a decently solid player and I haven't
seen him getting out of line, but I have only been
at the table for about 15mins.

Standard raises are around $6-$8 preflop.

Hero($198) is in the BB with AKo
UTG($416) calls $2
Villian($372) raises to $12
Folds around, Hero calls as well as UTG

Flop: Ac 2d 7c

Check, Check, Villian bets $25 into $36 pot
Hero reraises to $75
UTG folds
Villian pushes all-in

What is the plan now??

I call - you've got him beat except for an unlikely AA, 77, or 22.

Shouldn't you have considered this possibility before you pot-committed yourself? You are calling.

I hope the guy got cute with AQ, KK or QQ. There's a good chance you are chopping here with AK, but AA is definitely in his range.

First of all, don't c/r the flop. Either lead out or c/c. C/r put you in a tough spot here because you have almost half your stack in the pot and have no clue what to do. You're at best splitting this pot, and normally when you're just praying to split, you should fold. But you already have half your stack in, so it might be worth calling just for the split at this point. you might find the guy overplaying A-Q or A-J. I would really like to fold this, but because you put so much money already in, I think you have to call and pray for a split. I just hate saying that. That is just such an absolutely terrible way to play NL. So in the future, don't put yourself in this spot EVER.

What position is villain in?

If its UTG+1, or otherwise EP, the only hand you're behind here (Assuming he doesnt have 77, 22, or A7) is AA. Would he push top set (with position on you) after you've shown aggression?
Hard to say, but i'd lean towards no, because with the stack sizes and pot the way they are, the rest should be going in on the turn.

Of course, There arent many other hands in his range (if he's as reasonable as you think) that he'd push with here. He wouldnt push KK-JJ into an ace high board after a check-raise. If anything, I think you're chopping with another AK. MAYBE an overplayed AQ.

Its a tough spot... but I dont think you have much hope of winning this pot outright. I'd fold, and be pissed off.

Well, i dont know... With all the money in the pot, and only one way for villain to make AA but 6 ways to make AK... its probably worth it to call, even expecting a chop.

Still a sucky situation to be in though.

I don't like calling w/ AKo OOP. If you think villian is raising to isolate then you should re-raise or fold. I lean toward fold more than raise because you are OOP and the pot can easily be taken from you. However, given the way you got there I lead the flop.

I typically reraise here, but calling is better than folding.

I don't think we should be so quick to remove 77 from villain's hand range.

late position, larger than normal preflop raise?

feels like midpocket pairs to me.

that said, reraise preflop, lead the flop.

Do you fold AKo often when your facing a raise in the blinds?
