If you're not willing to upgrade the RAM now (to 1GB 1DIMM), definitely get 512MB 1 DIMM. You will only have 2 slots for RAM on the computer (usually one internal, one accessible) so have it built with a larger amount of RAM in the internal slot. I would strongly recommend a RAM upgrade.

The system looks like a pretty good deal though. I don't see how you could get it for any cheaper.

Agreed. You will thank yourself later for getting one DIMM rather than two.

Memory 512MB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz 2 Dimm

If you can bite the bullet, get 1GB.

-Video Card 64MB ATIs™ Mobility Radeon™ X300 64ATI

$50 to upgrade to 128MB, I think it's worth it.

Hard Drive 60GB 7200rpm Hard Drive
Primary Battery 9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery (80 WHr)

Good choices, worth the extra $$$.

The snap-on color kits are cool for $39. Great system, you'll love it. I play exclusively on my laptop.

I don't even see this option on the page.

*256MB DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz 1 Dimm
*512MB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz 2 Dimm [add $50 or $2/month2]
*1GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz 2 Dimm [add $250 or $8/month2] Dell Recommended
*2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz 2 Dimm [add $1,000 or $30/month2]

Get the 256MB RAM option.
Then go here and order one of these and save yourself $100 (and still have another RAM slot open. Or get 2GB at newegg for the price of 1GB at Dell)
Then try to eBay the 256MB piece.

If I add 1GB to the more accessible external slot, can I leave the 256 MB in the internal slot? Or do computers not work this way? (Never heard of a computer with 1.256 GB RAM)
