Default 5/10 Live 99 play...

Location: Bicycle Casino in LA
Stakes: $5/$10 Unrestricted Buy-in

9-handed
Garland (Tight-Aggressive, running good) ~$1700 behind in SB.
BB = George, the Greek Poker God (Loose-Aggressive, ok somewhat thinking player). Covers.
MP = Gore (Loose-Aggressive thinking player). Covers.
MP+1 = Brian Lee (Tilting loose aggressive, bordering on maniac, but doesn't play as bad as possible. Trying to run over the table. Has overbet the pot and tried to muscle people with over-sized bets. Probably down 4 or 5K so far in two hours of play. Too much into fancy play syndrome). ~$1100.

Action: MP limps, MP+1 raise to $45, I just call in SB and BB calls.

Flop- Pot ($180): A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Checked around.

Turn- Pot ($180): 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I ??bet?? $150, BB fiddles with his chips. I can sense him thinking about raising, but he just calls. All the rest fold.

River- Pot ($480): 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I check. George bets $400. I think for about 3 seconds and go all-in.

Different line anywhere?

Garland

Humm... I thought you were the button on that hand...

Again I watched the game last night. My overall impression was that you missed a lot of spots where you could have taken advantage of your tight and aggressive image.

Based on that you need to bet this flop. If I am wrong that you were not the button here, I still think with your image and respect on the table, any decent bet here takes it down.

Another line would be check flop, c/r big on the turn. I think George lays it down to a strong c/r here and you pickup any money in between.

What did you put George on in the hand? When I was watching the hand play out, I thought you checked behind on the river to induce a bluff from a missed draw, if that's so I don't see the value in raising cause if he missed, he folds...Maybe too results oriented given your premium holding and it only applies when you have like TPTK, but I would be curious to your thoughts on turn and river.

Default Results and thoughts...

I should have said in the original post, I had 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Not that the suits mattered. Sorry.

George the BB called instantly and showed the 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] for the heartbreaking loss. I was wondering if anyone else gets away losing less with this hand.

On the turn, I was 99% sure George had two hearts in his hand and had busted on the "blank" river. I was comtemplated checking the turn 80% sure one of the aggressive opponents would bet. As it turned out, Gore had KJo and would have put money in the pot and George would also be a candidate to bet the hand as well. However, I didn't want to risk a free card to gutshots like QJ, JT or maybe hearts.

On the river, I checked to induce a bluff and George bet on cue. If I was wrong and George had a hand like 2 pair, then I would punish him with the check-raise for max value. However, he may not pay me off on that. It just so happened he hit his hidden out. I guess most people go bust on this hand. It shows me there may be value to thinking things through and maybe just calling.

Thanks for your thoughts.
