By raising the turn I get the 3rd player out with any possible K or Q.

The board is AA56r. You're worried about folding out a King or Queen? I don't get it.

It was a good post ... but I think you *loaded* your post a bit by not describing what type of player MP was ... how weak was he before this? had he made tricky plays before? ... you talk about the UTG LAG, but MP's description is the missing link, no?

BTW, I think his turn raise was brilliant. As a matter of fact, by the large number of posters that fold here, I know it was.

[/ QUOTE ]

You're completely wrong and perhaps too impressed by "cool moves." You think his turn raise was brilliant because many of the posters would fold here in your spot? The problem is that when they raise, they're much more likely to have an Ace than JJ, so he's going to end up putting in 4-bets and losing here the vast majority of times. You think that's brilliant?

Sure. It's brilliant against a player who will raise the AA56 board w/ TT/JJ/QQ/KK and fold to a 3-bet. How often is that going to be the case for him in this hand?

Noo yawk, I like your style. Though I have to admit that, even though I can't put a number on it, I think the amount of times you win and lose there comes out net losing. Capping JJ against a strong player, even when isolating, and facing a board of AA can't be a good thing in the long run. You don't agree?

Hi Ulys, er El Diablo,

Getting a K or Q to fold the turn. Hands like Q6 or K5 suited that these knuckleheads like to play.

Hi El Diablo,
Why do I think it's brilliant?
Because he did what could to win the pot when a scare card hit, against a player who might have played back at him, giving him a chance to play him off his hand. Most of the posters here are good players, and against good players that play each other hard in a pot, yeah it's a good move based on the number of good players that said they'd fold here.

By the way, for the most part I don't raise the turn here, just in this case, against this player with this 3rd party involved. Had UTG 3 bet, well, I fold out of turn!!!
For the most part, MP folds to my raise. He Just picked a good moment to make a play, don't you think?

Hi Bad,
In the original post I described him as a good soilid player that plays well post flop, or something to that effect.
