Default $55: more level 2 blind shenanigans

Villian in this hand is loose and overly aggressive. The river plan is to check behind unless I hit my gutshot.

I dont like it, looks like you tried raising because he bet so small, loose aggros will usually call here.

Nh. Raising to 250 should be enough against a regular opponent though.

I don't mind just calling the turn either if you feel you can induce a bluff.

My reasoning on this one should be pretty clear (even if it's no good). Loose aggro guy stabs at the pot with a coordinated board. Could be any piece, could be a draw, small chance of just air. On the turn, he bets 55 into a 250 chip pot. This makes me believe he's on a draw, or doesn't feel that strongly about whatever piece he has. Raise it up, charge him if he's drawing, ideally we'll get a free showdown on the river.

On the flop I have middle pair with a gutshot and a backdoor flush draw. Is this a good call of a pot sized bet? If he bets pot again on the turn, I'm planning to fold unimproved.

Once I get to the turn, I like the idea of raising to 250 rather than 350. Accomplishes roughly the same thing, but doesn't cost me as much of my stack when I'm wrong or he hits his draw on the river.

is folding preflop even an option? why get involved with crap when blinds are at 15/30. I know that is not the question, but I am shocked at some of the holdings many players play at the $50's. Is the general concensus that everyone at 50's think they can out play post flop,,, vs. 20's-30's where pushbotting seems to produce a healthy return?

are hands like this played due to the 1,000 chip stacks. I thought i had the 50's figured out until i dropped $2k this week.

I fold to the almost-pot sized flop bet. Look at the situation it gets you into...the pot is large enough after your call that you have to raise nearly half your chips to try to win the pot on the turn, and the blinds are 15/30.

I just don't think the pot is worth it, and it only becomes worth it once you've committed a lot of chips to middle pair/gut shot.

The villain's shrinking bet is weird. I would raise here like you did, but also probably not as much, t200-300 sounds about right depending on how frisky I felt. I would be most fearful of a weird 2 pair though, and not a draw, though of course either is possible. But of course you're folding if he comes back over the top or if you miss the river and he bets big, so no problem.
