Thought that subject heading would get people looking.

My stepson has a smallish room and I am wanting to put a PC in there for him for christmas but means taking the big crt TV out. He also has a PS2 and would still want to play that.

So the options seem to be a small LCD tv or somthing like the Dell FP2001 or equivilant.

The disadvantage of the tv is getting a decent resolution for PC games eg Call of Duty or Half Life 2, the disadvantage of a monitor is getting sound from the PS2.

I would guess a few on here have had similar problems, what is the best solution and what wires/software etc are needed to get it working.

The PC has a tv out card on it if thats relevant.

get a 1600x1200 lcd like the dell fp2001...then get a tv tuner for lcd monitors and u can then plug the ps2 into the dell as well as cable, dvds, even hd...and then he can actually play games on the computer with decent res...640x480 is crap

the dell TELEVISIONS aren't much more and boast a much wider array of inputs (e.g. component, hdmi)

Both decent solutions if already had the monitor then the box would be the way to go found one on ebay for $50. But have gone for the 19" Dell widescreen tv monitor, does have better connections and ease of use is a plus and means if we put satellite in his room there will be spare connections for it as well.

Is $500 so the little bugger better be grateful.

I am not looking forward to it already, our lass has deceided we are having christmas dinner at ours this year and all her family are coming, including her sister who split up from her husband recently so will be a barrel of laughs, her daughter who is teenage nightmare in the flesh constantly moody and sits with her headphone on all the time.

We had a dry run out for a meal on Sat night, I was so annoyed and pissed off by 5 minutes into it, will just have to hit the beer and hope they dont hang around all day.

Sometimes you've gotta be grateful when teenagers are moody. At least it shuts them up.
