Default Commerce 10/20 QT Hand

Last Night. Commerce. 10/20 no max.

Table is playing pretty tight. EP has shown down a few bluffs and is probably the most aggressive player at the table. MP is a solid regular. I am me.

I've been playing ABC for the last 2 hours as that's what I tend to do when I get J4o every hand.

So, Ep ($2500) limps, MP ($5000) limps, I ($3300) limp w Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in CO, button limps blinds complete - 6 to the flop.

Flop is A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Checked to me, I bet $140.

EP calls, MP calls.

Turn 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Checked around.

River 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

EP bets $500

MP thinks and folds.

I call.

Ep shows me A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I got worked. Thought his line was pretty nuts though.

How did you get worked? You lost $650 on a hand where you could easily have lost your whole stack. And had you been able to find a fold on the river you would have worked him over absolutely. Even this way it looks like a win for you.

No - I was relatively happy with the result - I just meant that I usually have a range of hands for people that is close - I was lost on this one. Mainly just thought it was interesting.

Wow. No way to put him on that hand.

Looks like another spot where fast playing a big hand on a draw heavy board would have been the best play.

I think you'll occasionally see a hand like 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] x [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] here -- player dependent of course.

Considering his read, I think the river call is fine.

I agree that Villain's line disguised his holding very well. The downside to his line, of course, is that he didn't stack you when he should have.

He probably missed some value - Although I don't know that I'm getting it all in on the flop.

Looks like he was going for the limp reraise and got sucked into a pot...

Assuming that is the case... how would you have played it if you were in his place... Blown limp RR and hitting top set on a two flush board with one or more players drawing to big hands?

I lead the flop.

At an aggressive table, I may c/r huge to make it look like a draw, but this table was so passive that I think checking it was a pretty big error.

He was lucky I had enough of a hand to bet into 6 players there - he probaly should have made it $450 - 500 when it got back to him. Not sure what I would've done there.
