Default Fold this river?

$50+5. I figure this is probably a fold, I just need someone to tell me I'm right (or wrong). As always, comments on other streets are appreciated.

Postflop play? What's that?

Seriously, why did you check the turn though? Seeing as you did that, he probably put you on AK and bets the river thinking his one pair is good. The way you played it, I push the river.

Checking the turn is pretty painful though.

I think checking the turn is my mistake here. After he called the flop bet I figured a flush draw was definitely a possibility, though betting out on the turn anyway and folding to a raise is probably the best line.

What pair can you put him on. Range of hands?

I would guess he could have some high cards, called your bet on the flop because he didnt think you hit, and when you showed weakness on the turn he bet the river. Alrite highly unlikly, but you would like to wish .

He probebly hit his flush on the turn and checked hoping you would lead out again. If you folded probely the correct line.

The problem is there's all sorts of hands you can put him on here. He could have a pair, or he could have a flush, or a straight. I think you should have raised a bit more PF, so that he wouldnt call here with 67 or 2 suited. I don't mind the turn check because I'm willing to let this hand go so early on. If you bet strong on the turn, he smooth calls, then what do you do on river? If you bet again youre basically all in and he might be slow playing his made str8/flush. If you check and he pushes, then what? In summary-

* slightly larger PF bet
* the flop bet was fine, you didnt give him good odds for str8 or flush or an ace
* that 8 diamonds was a really bad card.. I'm fine with check/folding at this point

You took the words out of my fingers. You need to bet the turn. If he does have the flush, there's a good chance he'll call and check to you on the river and you can then check behind.
