Turn c/r correct here?
Converter still seems to be borked, so I'll make it as readable as I can. All comments appreciated. This was my second hand at the table.
Party Poker (9 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is BB with T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. MP1, CO, Button and SB call, Hero checks. 5 to the flop for 5 SBs. Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players) SB checks, Hero bets, MP1 raises, CO folds, Button folds, SB folds, Hero calls. 4.5BB Turn: 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks. MP1 bets. Hero raises. MP1 calls. 8.5BB River: 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets. MP1 folds. Final Pot: Lacking the 3-bet on the turn, I felt this river bet was for value. Does my line extract the maximum? Should I even be raising with a shitty kicker? I raised to find out just how bad my kicker was. I don't think he's calling a river raise, so either way I win 2 BB. (turn raise/call and bet/fold, or turn bet/call and bet/call) |

Re: Turn c/r correct here?
Raising for information is rarely correct.
I don't mind your play, FWIW. |

I raised to find out just how bad my kicker was. [/ QUOTE ] Raise for value here, not for information. You never raise just for information. Your play is fine. |

Re: Turn c/r correct here?
I really don't like the turn check. we can't risk this getting checked around and losing the pot and our minds when a river [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] falls.
EDIT: woops, I totally missed that someone raised you on the flop. the play is fine. |

Re: Turn c/r correct here?
I think turn c/r was a fantastic way to make him put you on a flush. I would have 3 bet the flop and led the turn.
Edit: realised my sarcasm may come across as truly liking the c/r. I don't like it cause you can't aford to have it checked through on this draw heavy board |

In fact, do you really think the villain is folding anything our hero has beaten? Edit: Ha, posted this right as you made your edit. Please ignore. |

Re: Turn c/r correct here?
It seems to me that he got scared of a possible flush. Would you still check-raise if a non-heart came up?

Re: Turn c/r correct here?
grunching
I am not sure about the raise on the turn? What could he be raising with on the flop? He could have a 10, pocket 7's, or he might have a flush draw. If he has a T, he has a better kicker I almost guarantee, and when the turn comes out, it completes the possible flush. So my question is, why the raise? What is your reasoning here considering he raised the flop? |

Rather, if he's on a flush draw or a 7, then betting the turn after I just call the flop raise is probably thought of (by him) as a semi-bluff. After I raise him, he starts thinking "Big Blind? This cat could have a 10." |

Re: Turn c/r correct here?
Bet the turn. If the turn card were the 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I would check/raise against a typical player and bet-3bet from time to time against a better player. Checking the turn here just can't be right though.
