I had a list of ten names of players I recognized out of the 34 entrants. Nine of them failed to get their money back. The tenth name was lead Bad Boy, Paul Darden who won for the second time this tournament. Plaza World Poker Classic NO LIMIT HOLD’EM $50,000 BUY-IN MAY 16, 2005 11 PLAYERS $550,000 PRIZE POOL 1ST PLACE – RANDY LEWIS $550,000 2ND PLACE – EARL VAN ALSTYNE 3RD PLACE – BOB BRIGHT 4TH PLACE – VINCE BURGIO 5TH PLACE – SIG SIGETY 6TH PLACE – JEFF FRERICHS 7TH PLACE – KELLY SCHWALBE 8TH PLACE – TAMMY BRIGHT 9TH PLACE – BOBBY BRIGHT This was the mystery event of all time. The first regularly scheduled $50,000 entry drew eleven players when a TV contract was signed. Then it was over in one day. So strange. I'm going to try to interview as many people as I can to get you the story of what happened and why. edit- well takin 4th, but not winning when this appeared to be winner take all.... meh....figured the folks here would like to know. especially my buddy- mr. waking life paul phillips.
