starcarft was my stomping ground before poker. I was #2 toss in USA for a while, I used the name rS.Maynard.

A lot of good players made the switch to poker.

[/ QUOTE ]

a lot of nerds. I don't think you can equate point & clicking to poker ability.

that has nothing to do with living in a house as a 20 yr old where its a hassle for people to get 5 dollars together for beer, and you are down 12k that week. I think its what holds me back the most, I was trying to get advice from people who have dealt with this sort of thing.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm 25, and I do have to worry about a hell of a lot more than beer. The simple fact of the matter is, money really doesn't mean that much to me.

Well, I realize that money is not the end all in this world. Friends, family, and health are far far superior in terms of importance in this life. Money comes and goes, and those who spend a ton of time worrying about it will live a very shallow life. I dunno, I guess I am desensitized to the value of it.

[/ QUOTE ]

On one hand what you say makes sense. On the other hand, with that attitude it might take you a while to get enough bankroll together to go beyond the 33's.
