Default 99 on bubble

I think I played this wrong...

The two bigger stacks to my left were playing very tightly while the short stack had been much looser.

My goal here was to give the short stack good odds to call / raise me so that I could take him all-in and be in a much better chip position ITM if I won or, if I lost, continue stealing from the tight players to my left. I was also trying to determine the right amount where I would be ok with dropping it if one of the big stacks came over top all-in.

***** Hand History for Game 2442171059 *****
150/300 Tourney Texas Hold'em Game Table (NL) (Tournament 14354329) - Fri Jul 29 03:16:10 EDT 2005
Table Table 13887 (Real Money) -- Seat 9 is the button
Total number of players : 4
Seat 2: Andy3B (770)
Seat 7: HERO (1855)
Seat 9: kwoksun2000 (2440)
Seat 10: t33n3r (2935)
t33n3r posts small blind (75)
Andy3B posts big blind (150)
** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to HERO [ 9d, 9h ]
HERO raises (400) to 400
kwoksun2000 folds.
t33n3r raises (1925) to 2000
Andy3B folds.
HERO folds.

Questions

1) What should I have done preflop with this? I had been stealing a lot of blinds up to that point.

2) If the short stack calls then I think the easy play is for me to also go all-in. Is that right?

3) In this situation where the small stack folded, I likely am a decent favorite to win the hand, I have pretty good pot odds but do I make this call with 9's?

Thanks,

rvg

This is a tough spot. The big stacks know they can re-raise you all in and you cant call without a premium hand in fear of busting 4th. I dont really like the 400 raise becasue it sometimes will invite this sort of actoin. You could fold this preflop(yes it sucks). You could also raise more to show the larger stacks you are commited to this pot and they might not want to play. Teener could of actually had a huge hand though, so you might of dodged a bullet

I don't think this is a spot to get too cute. the bb almost with certainty needs to be in this hand.

after posting he has t470 left.
UTG 4 handed w/ ~ 6bb, 99 this is a good push, probably clear. If he gets doubled up he has t1540 and you'll be posting t450 in the next two hands and sit roughly the same as him.

He actually has 620 after posting and I have 12bb's... (didn't use hand converter which probably threw you off)

The 620 made me feel like I had to induce him to call and the 12BB made me unhappy with pushing...

With this info do you still push?
