Up to the river is fine. I think the river is probably also fine although I don't play the Party 3/6 game and don't know whether a typical opponent raises the turn and follows through with a river bet with less than JJ 10% of the time.

You should have folded the turn or called down. I don't understand calling the turn and folding the river.

He has a gutshot and set outs to call the turn.

Think it was good, he will probably check through most of the stuff you beat.

Call the river and lose an extra bet. You will win this more than 1 in 9 times.

I play it the same. You have enough outs to correctly call the turn, and I don't call the river unless a read warrants me doing so.

"Call the river and lose an extra bet. You will win this more than 1 in 9 times."

What hands raise the turn then bet the river here that hero beats other than a pure bluff?

I'd put the odds of winning closer to 1 in 15 without a read.

I think the turn call is very close. He is paying 1 big bet to win 7.6. That means he has to win at least 12 percent of the time. Even if we give him implied odds by saying he will get another bet out of the villain on the river, he still has to win 10.5 percent of the time.

Hero may have 6 outs (13 percent), or he may have only 3 outs (7 percent) if his opponent holds a hand like QT (taking away both Js and 1 T). So this play depends on the read. What does Hero think the villain raised with? If it's two pair, like 98 e.g., then Hero has 12 outs and the call is clearly correct. If it's top pair, then the call is marginally correct. But if it's a made straight or top pair with an inside straight draw, then the call is quite wrong.

Given how close the numbers are, I probably would have laid it down on the turn, regardless of whether this is, in fact, the right play. Once I call the turn, it's hard for me not to look an unknown opponent up with one more bet on the river.
