Re: Top 5 limit holdem books
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Small Stakes Hold'em (Miller/Sklansky/Malmuth) Hold'em Poker for Advanced Players (Sklansky/Malmuth) Middle Limit Holdem Poker (Ciaffone/Brier) [/ QUOTE ] You really could read the above three and never have to read another limit Hold 'em book. But these also add something new: Real Poker II -- Roy Cooke Weighing the Odds in Hold 'em - King Yao And for begginers: Getting Started In Hold Em - Ed Miller Winning Low Limit Hold 'Em - Lee Jones Hold 'em Poker - David Sklansky Internet Texas Hold 'em - Matthew Hilger I think that's the lot really... All good. [/ QUOTE ] No mention of How Good is Your Hold'em? [/ QUOTE ] Yes by Disc Golf. |

Re: Top 5 limit holdem books
[ QUOTE ]
Saying TOP has no relation to limit holdem is like saying the Buddha has no relation to Zen; you can say it, but does it mean anything? And if it doesn't mean anything, and you still say it, are you really saying it? [/ QUOTE ] So well put I had to put my two cents stamp of approval on it. As an aside--I think a list of the worst poker books would also be helpful--saving someone and time. I'd start with Hellmuth's books. |

After reading TOP for the first time i actually switched from NL to limit. |

Re: Top 5 limit holdem books
My 5 would be (in order in which I think they should be read):
Getting Started in Hold'em Internet Texas Hold'em Small Stakes Hold'em The Psychology of Poker Hold'em Poker for Advanced Players I'd also recommend anyone to also read Weighing the Odds in Hold'em (this could be switched for HEPFAP if you don't feel too advanced) and Theory of Poker (to help gel all the constituant parts together). |

Re: Top 5 limit holdem books
I agree that TOP and ITPM are essential reading for any Limit Hold 'em player, but that doesn't make them Limit Hold em books, which was the issue I was adressing, hence their ommission from my list.
