How do you bust out?
I'm guessing for myself it would be:
~70% - forced to make a move with a short stack ~12% - all-in w/ a monster and get sucked out on ~10% - picked off on a bluff/semi-bluff ~8% - all-in w/ a monster vs. a bigger monster This is completely unrelated to the distribution of how I become crippled to a short stack. I'm only talking about busting, and I'm curious what others would guess for their own stats. You could probably use this data to draw interesting conclusions of one's style of play. |

Re: How do you bust out?
I typically bust in tournaments when i'm short stacked or when I run into aces.
Though for some strange reason, once I get into the money I become incredibly agressive and end up bluffing off all my chips. It's something i'm working to fix. |

Re: How do you bust out?
I would guess a forced move is much lower on my list.
30% - Strong Hand, Lose to a Stronger Hand 30% - Short Stacked, Forced Move. 20% - Sucked out on with big hand vs either Flush Draw or OESD. 15% - Sucked out on as 3:1 or better favorite. 5% - All-In, Stone Cold Bluff called |

Re: How do you bust out?
70% as a short stack? Wow. You should rethink your MTT strategy.

My ITM % is probably lower though. |

Re: How do you bust out?
your missing this category:
All in with a coin flip ( eg. AK vs JJ). This is different than all in with a monster vs a bigger monster. |

Re: How do you bust out?
So you've never busted out from a tournament by making a bad bet or an error in judgement?

70% as a short stack? Wow. You should rethink your MTT strategy. [/ QUOTE ] I am guilty too, I believe you are correct. A lot of printed material on tournaments has you playing only big hands and consequently folding yourself into a desperate chip stack. I am now playing drawing and marginal hands in the last three positions in hopes of hitting something or being in position to represent hands. Any constructive criticism or advice? |
