There is some strange loophole that he is investigating (or so I read somewhere) but, make no mistake, some accountants are being paid handsomely as we speak to get him out of paying said millions he may or may not owe.

Bart, I assure you, there is nothing manly about Thanksgiving - at least my Thanksgiving, as I'll be hiding out in my room waiting for my psychotic family to leave my home.

Shirley, read the final few pages - Mason changes his mind. And, no, it's not precisely the situation you guys were talking about, but there is some quality posts in there regarding why JJ is better on a variety of levels.

Since he was not a professional gambler at the time, his winnings were not technically taxable. However, the Australian Taxation Office is currently looking into how much of a cut they are going to take. The US took 30%.

What is the deal with trips on a paired board that the hosts want a big bet? With the pocket pair and making trips, this is strong. With a paired board that matches one of my cards, how is that strong? I do agree to bet this to find out where I am. What is the NL play here?

Heads up maybe. Please explain.

I was looking at Poker Padz, and I can't get the custom made ones without having to buy 500 of them.

Is there any way you guys can hook me up with the L@TB poker pad?

Bart,

Why do you prefer Absolute over Party?

Please don't say the ease of rakeback, as isn't the better action at the latter make the aforementioned at the former less preferable?

Australia, in general, does not tax gambling income. However, Harrah's should have withheld 30% of his winnings (there is no tax treaty between the US & Australia; this withholding, to the IRS, is mandatory), or $2.25 million. Thus, his actual win is only $5.25 million.

If you flop high trips but with a bad kicker - say A3 on a board of AA8 - you want ot find out quickly where you stand (though it will still be hard to get away from your hand) check raise if out of position and if reraised - you can be pretty sure you are beat.
