CBS Sitcom - How I Met Your Mother

Paucity of great Network TV sitcoms (ratings-wise) is an historical anomaly. Not 1 sitcom will finish in the Nielsen Top 10 this season, and maybe 1 will finish in the Top 15 (2 & a Half-Men).

Only decent new comedies premiering this season, imo, are Earl and How I Met Your Mother. (Note: of course AD and The Office are great, but I'm just talking new shows.)

I thought How I Met Your Mother had a real "Friends" quality to it, and might break out. Ratings suggest otherwise.

I was wondering, for those of you who've seen it, what you thought. Also if you haven't, what your impression of the show is. It airs Mondays at 8.30pm.

I like it and that makes me feel gay. I love the reporter, she is one of the best looking women on tv and that makes me feel not gay.

I think the writing is pretty good but the main character is slightly too perfect/charming as written. Not to me mind you but too the ladies, not sure if you get my point about the writing.

I love it. NPH is basically playing himself from Harold and Kumar, and that's a good thing

Yup. NPH is not the main character, but he's priceless. The writer who thought up licking national monuments for a hobby is really twisted.
