Online gaming stocks and the actual play are two seperate things and need to be seperated!

I guess the question is are you a player or an investor?

If online poker had to reduce rake by 50% due to increased competition, it would be great for the players, horrible for the stock.

Online poker is dead!!

Everyone out of the pool before you lose your shirt!!!

No, no, after you. I'm right behind ya.

I'm just staying behind to, um, make sure there aren't any abandoned pets or something.

FYP.

As a longtime investor in Apple, I can tell you it's true.

I'm not trying to be a smartass, but does anyone know how I can short the stock? What exchange does it trade on? Can an American investor trade it?

When Tiger Woods hit the pros (and TV!), everybody pulled out the clubs and dreamed of the Masters...huge growth...then all those newbies realized...it's expensive and tough. No different here.

Uh, I believe gold is still a pretty booming industry.

I'm with you. I think the online poker market still has a lot more room to grow. Ironically, precisely because of this, I'd like to short Party's stock. As the market gets bigger, I think Party's share of it will get smaller and smaller. They are/were marketing genuises, but they are otherwise a terribly run company. The only thing saving them at the moment is lack of of any comptetent competition.

If you don't know how to short a stock, you should probably not be shorting a stock.

You've more than likely missed your opportunity anyway. You needed to buy and sell the stock when it was high, so you could buy it back again today.

And it's on the London Stock Exchange. Your broker should be able to help you (probably need a live broker).

I've done many a shorts. I just wasn't sure which exchange it traded on and it wasn't on my priority list of trades, so I never bothered to research it. But I liked the short side ever since I heard they were going public and I still do. I'm pretty sure this company is going to be a disaster of an investment on the long side. And I play on it 4 days a week, 29k hands a month!

Thanks for the info.

Exactly. Shorting while technically not hard to do, is not something for the average Joe. There is alot of crap to contend with.

Guys! I'd be willing to bet that I've shorted more $$ volume in stocks within the last 6 months than either of you have in the last 3 years! But it's good to know someone's looking out for me. Thanks (I think).
