Default am i ready to go from 8 tabling 50nl to 8 tabling 100nl?

Hello fellow 2+2ers.

So here's the deal. I've had about 15k hands at 50nl, averaging 7 tables. i'm at 9.23PTBB/100 after these 15k hands. My account is at 2k.

If all I care about is making money and building my bankroll (safely), is it time for me to move up to 7-8 tables of 100nl? Can I just keep playing the same game I have been playing, ABCing it? What else should I take into consideration before making the leap?

Thanks for the replies

-Grant

15k isn't that many hands, but if you feel good about your game, just work one or two NL $100 tables into your rotation and keep adding a table as your bankroll allows. You only need to win at half your current rate so give it a shot. 20 buy-ins is fine as long as you move down if you run into variance.

I would say yes. For some reason i think that 100NL is much easier than 50NL. I had like 35K hands at 50NL before i moved up and i averaged like 8-9PTBB/100.
Since moving up to 100NL i have like 19K hands and i am averaging 16PTBB. This could also because i have started to play solely 6-max but i feel there is some type of reverse psychology working on the 100 tables where people want to make sure that they arent afraid to lose 100 dollars so they are more willing to stick it in or something.
Anyhow move up, or like 4_2 said at least start to rotate a couple 100 tables in.

Thanks for advice. You're absolutely right, 15k is a pretty small sample. So would you say that i should do 7 tables of 50nl and 1 table of 100nl when my account is at 2100, then 6 tables of 50nl and 2 tables 100nl when its at 2200, etc?

I actually like the sound of that

Jsnipes,

Did you play solely full ring games at the 50nl level, and then switch to 6 max after going to 100nl? I think that 6max is probably more profitable for me in the long run, but I hate to try to switch up my entire game right now, especially when trying to make the jump to 100nl. Hmm, what to do.

Start with 2 NL$100 tables to get used to doubling bet sizes. Once you get comfortable add another table and so on. I think it took me a two weeks (I don't play every day) and I was set. If your roll falls below $1,200 move back down and rebuild at the $50's. In my progression from the micros I moved up and then back down several times. Hopefully you won't experience that fun feeling, but if you do, don't sweat it. Just concentrate on making the right decisions and the results will take care of themselves.

I doubt you mean 6 max, but if you do start off with only one or 2 tables total. IF you're playing full you can play more. I'd be more inclined to play 6 tables total with 1 or 2 of those beeing 100NL. You need to get used to the bet size and difference in table play associated with the jump (people generally play tighter and less maniacle but not always). Plus it would suck to start off with a 6 buy in down swing at your first try at the 100's. Not that it's likely, just that it will crush your confidence if it does.

gord
you guys saying yo make 8+bb/100 at 100nl makes me sick. i know that playing in my prime i'm capable of 6+ but seems i can't play in my prime often at all. i was at 4bb/100 and satisfied (4 tabling) now after 30kish hands i'm sitting at 2.5ishbb/100. it isn't just bad cards, i'm making alot of mistakes, and it's getting difficult to handle.
