Wait till a safe flop here?
Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (10 handed) converter
Preflop: Hero is Button with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 raises, UTG+2 calls, 1 fold, MP2 calls, 1 fold, CO calls, Hero.... Pros and Cons: I'm pretty sure I have the best hand. However, i Cannot isolate the raiser, and raising here jams the pot and makes it impossible to protect my hand, even on a rag flop and alot of flops ruin my hand to this many cold callers. Discuss |

Re: Wait till a safe flop here?
You're not ever going to be able to protect here. Raise for value.
Edit: Are you on a downswing? I wouldn't expect this line of thinking from you. |

Re: Wait till a safe flop here?
30% of the time you get undercards, 12.5% of the time you get trips and have a huge edge. The pot is already going to be so big on the flop there's no way you can protect so just 3 bet for value since you'll win far more than your share of the time against so many callers.

Re: Wait till a safe flop here?
Well, the past 2 weeks have been frustrating break even streches. However, I've had a very nice day today. For some reason I thought it would be easier to drive out overcards if the pot wasn't ginormous. After thinking it over....well, it shoulda been a 3 bet.

Re: Wait till a safe flop here?
What's wrong with a fold here? You'll see an overcard 46% of the time, plus there's a very good chance you're drawing to 2 outs. If you don't flop a set, what flop do you like? Any undercard could be a set, any overcard beats you. Plus you should be up against at least one overpair.
