An all-(your color) flop is 8.5:1 against, and they're paying 8 for 1 (aka 7:1)

If I understood this correctly, the house edge is a whopping 17.65%. Combined with a max bet of $10, I can't imagine that anyone will ever win enough to play it more than once.

I calculate the odds of hitting at 8.5/1 giving the house a 5.9% edge.

Those greedy bastards! A group could collude to gain an edge though

1/((26/52) * (25/51) * (24/50))= 1 in 8.5 chance.

While I know this probably isn't going to make it +EV or anything I wonder how much the odds change when you're holding (for example) two red cards and betting on black? It will take someone smarter than me to figure it out.

EDIT: I guess you have to place your wager before the hand is dealt, so nevermind...although I'm still curious what the odds would be.

Why would they put such a low limit on such a high edge bet?

Oh, wait a minute, we are talking about Party.

I hope this means I'll be able to talk fish at the casino into taking the worst of it on other prop bets now that they'll have some experience with them.....
