Flopped a King High flush
Live 3/6
Hero is MP with K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. All of the players in on the flop are pretty good players except for the big blind who is rather loose and has rebought 3 times already. The other 3 are not overly aggressive or passive. Probably are slightly winning players. UTG folds. UTG+1 folds. UTG+2 folds. MP1 calls. Hero raises. MP3 folds. CO calls. Button folds. SB folds. BB calls. MP1 calls. FLOP (8 SB): 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] MP1 checks. Hero checks. CO bets. BB folds. MP1 folds. Hero raises. CO folds. I feel I made a mistake check-raising on the flop. If I would of just called. I could probably of check-raised him on the turn for more money. My intent on the check raise was to get the loose player BB to call/bet and then raise him on the flop because he isn't folding check-raises, and might even call a BB on the turn. Generally speaking, what play here is +EV. |

what play here is +EV. [/ QUOTE ] Not folding. Bet is the highest. Please stop posting "best way to extract money" hands. This forum is for very thin EV situations, not obviously +EV. |

Re: Flopped a King High flush
I've always hated that "extract money" phrase. I fear it when someone flops a monster on one of the TV shows because I know 'That phrase" is coming. Maybe it's because I hate dentists.
Anywway, bet the flop. You don't want to give a free card to the A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. If nobody calls then, oh well, you weren't gonna get any money from them anyways. |

Re: Flopped a King High flush
The only other thing you could of done is
c/c, c/c, bet. Obviously 3 bet the turn if CO raises. You flopped a big hand and no one had anything, cant get upset over that. |

Re: Flopped a King High flush
Waiting for the turn to make a move can be right when the pot is very big, but with 4BB, risking a check-raise is quite silly. A pot this small, you can't be checking/calling. You should have bet, especially considering your "overcall" tactic by merely calling isn't very effective if everyone else besides the flop better folded.
Your hand isn't easily dominated, the pot is small-- bet out. |
