Default Super Tuesday Hands

Here are a couple hands from PP's Super Tuesday Tourney, all comments appreciated.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t15 (10 handed) converter

BB (t940)
UTG (t960)
UTG+1 (t1000)
UTG+2 (t2080)
MP1 (t990)
Hero (t1025)
MP3 (t1025)
CO (t885)
Button (t1110)
SB (t985)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, UTG+2 calls t15, MP1 calls t15, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to t80</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">CO raises to t225</font>, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, UTG+2 folds, MP1 folds, Hero ???

Pretty early, CO hadn't played many hands and this was his first big raise. What's your plan here being OOP?

Hand 2:

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (10 handed) converter

saw flop|<font color="#C00000">saw showdown</font>

<font color="#C00000">MP1 (t1010)</font>
MP2 (t3295)
<font color="#C00000">MP3 (t1660)</font>
CO (t110)
Button (t225)
SB (t1200)
Hero (t1478)
UTG (t1395)
UTG+1 (t1295)
UTG+2 (t1380)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP1 raises to t125</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, MP3 calls t125, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, Hero calls t95.

Flop: (t390) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">MP1 bets t250</font>, MP3 calls t250, Hero ???

This is my second hand at a new table. Preflop do you agree with the call? Should I have led the flop or is a check the right move? A pretty big bet to call on the flop... fold?

Hand 3:

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (10 handed) converter

Button (t3970)
SB
BB (t3335)
UTG (t185)
<font color="#C00000">UTG+1 (t225)</font>
UTG+2 (t855)
Hero (t1088)
MP2 (t1335)
MP3 (t1295)
CO (t1385)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
1 fold, UTG+1 bets t225 (all in), 1 fold, Hero ???

Should I call this? push this? My 8th hand at the table maybe... table has been average, not loose or tight. This is 20% of my stack here. In a later position I push but I'm still pretty early.(still 10-12 min left at level)

Hand 4:

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (10 handed) converter

SB (t2925)
BB (t1448)
UTG (t1375)
UTG+1 (t3305)
UTG+2 (t5392)
Hero (t958)
MP2 (t4685)
MP3 (t2295)
CO (t870)
Button (t1300)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">UTG+2 raises to t250</font>, Hero???

I had just taken the blinds the hand before. This player had been fairly aggressive but never way out of line. He has twice put me all in when folded to him in the SB and me in the BB. I'm starting to get very short... do I fold, push, call this? His range for raising here is fairly decent but no matter what he will call if i push.

Hand 1: A case can probably made for all 3...Assuming absolutely no read I would lean a little bit towards push but I like to gamble early in these tournaments.

Hand 2: I definitely push here. The pot is pretty big, you have some fold equity and if called you have 8-10 outs (6 against AA). Seems like a fairly straight forward push to me...

Hands 3 and 4: I fold. Hand 4 I may push with a read.

For hand two I take it you mean to push after checking? Not open pushing the flop.

Hand 1
2.5 to 1 odds. I'd say that's just about good enough to call with proper odds if you hit an A or K. If he has QQ/JJ you're probably not getting paid off if an A or K hits so you're pre-flop pot odds are probably your implied odds as well. Since you should make an A or K a little over 1/3 of the time you're just slightly good to go in that respect.

Personally, I really hate putting in so much pre-flop out of position with AK. And I usually don't mind busting out early for a chance to double up (or win a nice pot pre-flop). Throw in a slight chance of a loose call with AQ. So this advocates pushing.

I definitely think calling is better than folding so I think you either call or push and both are reasonable. Sorry, no clear answers all the time.

Hand 2
Marginal call pre-flop. You barely have the right odds to call for set value if you can stack them. This is the best flop you can hope for without flopping a set (obviously). If you're going to play past the flop you need to get your chips in the middle with the most folding equity. Making a normal bet will get re-raised all-in by an overpair. Pushing will get called by an overpair. Check-raising is your best option (if you're going to play).

When it gets back to you on the flop, the pot is t890. I'm sure you're up against an overpair, possibly a set but not as likely as the overpair. But MP3 cold calling does have me a little concerned that he could have a set. So you've got 8 outs to make a straight, you've got 2 outs for a set which may or may not be good. You need better than 2 to 1 odds to make this +EV. I don't think you're getting that much if you push. So, I'd fold.

Hand 3
Fold. If you're in LP or the blinds then a call makes sense. But you can't just call, you'd have to push and there are too many people left to act for me to feel comfortable doing so.

Hand 4
I'd fold this as well. Yes you're getting shortstacked but you just paid the blinds, are not desperate, and should have a much better opportunity later on.

Sorry, yes I meant pushing after checking. That would be my default line.
