I mucked my three outer, thanks.

don't forget you also have outs to a flush higher than the one he is showing and the A of clubs is dead. I think you are getting about 8:1 to call the raise and if you hit your boat you will get at least 2 bets out of him. I don't think it is an automatic fold.

You made a mistake. The pot was laying you ~ 8.5:1 odds. (I don't know for sure because you didn't tell us about the structure)
You have 3 outs for a full house.
You have the A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] for a flush.
5 outs.
You've seen 23 cards.
29 left
~ 5:1 to make a better hand.
You should have called.

[/ QUOTE ]

No, sorry, mistake in the HH, I did not have a flush draw.

HERE'S AN EDIT FOR NO FLUSH DRAW:

You made a mistake. The pot was laying you ~ 8.5:1 odds. (I don't know for sure because you didn't tell us about the structure)
You have 3 outs for a full house.
You've seen 23 cards.
29 left
~ 7:1 to make a better hand.
You should have called.

Plus you have implied odds on the end - if you hit, you'll get two big bets.

Thank you for the advice and analysis. The three on the end should have been the three of spades I think. I mucked thinking he had two pair with aces as one of them. I also figured he might have a queen under there.

When playing stud information is your best tool. When you've seen 20 cards in the deck the odds shift dramatically in your favor if your draw is live. So a 4 outer in hold em is a bad beat (usually) but a 4 outer in stud often is correct to draw for.
If you're always looking at in terms of outs vs. unknowns you'll do a lot better.

and what appears to be an obvious fold will quickly become an obvious call.
