Q6o blind steal
I'm still having difficulties with what kind of hands I should try and steal.
And when I do try to steal I'm having difficulties playing postflop, which probably means I shouldn't try and steal with those hands, but I think it's the best way to learn. Opponent just sat on the table one orbit. I'd figure with a king he would wait till the turn or river to raise. So I think my flop and turn play is ok. But I really dislike my river play here. How would you play the river (and the rest of the hand)? Re: Q6o blind steal
Call him down after his flop raise. 3-betting is chip spewing. If he is raising a flush draw then he probably has nearly 15 outs versus you because he is likely to hold 2 overcards to your pair, so you don't even have an equity edge here. If he holds a K then he will punish you in this hand. Against some players you could check-fold the river when the spade hits. Calling his river raise is pretty awful.

Re: Q6o blind steal
You should gradually steal raise more and more hands. I don't think Q6o is a standard steal raise from the SB unless the BB is really tight.
About the river, I would probably check-fold and check-calling would be my second choice. For the rest of the hand, I would probably call the flop raise and bet the turn when it isn't a spade and fold when he raises again. When he calls that one too I would fold to a spade on the river and check call the rest (except maybe an ace). Thanks, Guido |
