Did anyone think that they "2nd thug" that went to beat up nichols was supposed to be the russian that was in the boxing match the matador kept talking about? I'd have to rewatch it, but that was the sense I got.

Yeah, they probably did that to add to the realism. Instead of Nichols kicking the [censored] out of just two regular guys, they made one of the guys a pro boxer so it'd be more believable.

A couple of thoughts:

1. why would they kill that old guy inside a casino with witnesses all around? C'mon now, you are in the middle of a huge desert, at least do it somewhere private. Even mob idiots knew that.

2. The line about Vince Mcman (or however its spelled) was classic. Nickels character is the opitomee of a wrestler with an IQ of mayonaise.

3. I actually caught myself guessing ahead at exactly what was going to happen in almost every scene. Like the 4 suited board with the other guy holding the nut flush...I told myself the board would pair. And on the 7 10 split, I thought, "how cheesy would it be if he made it and then made some dumb poker line reference." Sure enough, something to the effect of, "In poker, the loser always thinks the guy who wins is lucky"

4. I actually think the show has gotten quite a bit better than the first 2 episodes. The plot is starting to get interesting to me, even though the filler scenes are very predictable and cheesy. I'm starting to wonder if their plan will work and whether the Matador will get caught cheating and such.

5. My guess is that the cop shoots tropical henry next episode. The preview made it look like he shot Nickels, but that would be too easy. I think the cop will shoot TH and then plant a gun or something and look like a hero. Either that or he will shoot the wall or something to try and scare Nickels.

NO NO NO! Do you need glasses or do I need glasses? Was that really the Sherriff shooting someone or was it The Matador? (my memory fails me but I thought it was The Matador).

Here is what will happen. The Matador will murder either Miami or the black guy (or maybe the mom of Eddie but highly unlikely). Why do you think they show Eddie being escorted by security and his face is full of rage??
