Default Too many tournaments at once?

Does anyone think the glut of tournaments will ease in the next year or two? Let's take a look at the middle of november as an example.

WSOP TOC 11/6-11/8
Poker Superstars III 11/9-11/16
Foxwoods ME 11/13-11/18
UPC 11/16-11/28
WSOP Circuit ME Ballys LV 11/19-11/22
Monte Carlo Millions 11/20-11/23

Why did we need a wsop bally's event?
How the hell does the UPC recoup its production costs?

I'm waiting for public access to carry some poker..

UPC's production costs probably arent sky high as the production is very weak. You can hear slot machines in the background, players talking while the commentators are talking, etc. I'm not sure how they are doing with DVD sales, but they probably arent doing bad with the TV if its still going.

Absolutely. A day before the Borgata Open started if you had looked at a calendar you would have seen 5 10K tournaments in Atlantic City alone over the next 5 months. WPT, Trump USPC, and 3 WSOP Circuit events(!).

All of those WSOPC events are going to be so weak... some of the rooms are just getting off the ground and I doubt they are satelliting a lot of people.

The amazing thing is that the Borgata added another 10K WPT event in January. I too question the ability of Harrahs to spread three WSOPC 10k events in AC between now and March. I think the Borgata event should attract players because of the television coverage.

Speaking of poker in AC, I thought I read somewhere that the Tropicana was running tournaments for the ProJo series of tournaments that were to air on CBS, starting Christmas day. I haven't heard anything else since then. Are there actually tournaments, or did it die off in obscurity?

Tunica will have the WPT World Poker Open at the Goldstrike Jan 9-23 and a WSOP Circuit event at the Grand Jan 4-26. That place is going to be a zoo.

Anyone notice that the UPC first season had something like 20 episodes on the DVD (most of which aired) and this season (3rd) only has something like 7 finalized tables? They are hurting too. Turnouts are much lower and its downtown. More proof that downtown poker is dieing a slow painful death. Too bad
