Default greed, for lack of a better word, is good

9 handed 25/50

utg+2 opens for $175, folded to me on the button, i coquettishly call with red AA, aggressive regular with $3000 behind makes it $800 straight from the BB, opener calls, i call. opener has me covered i have $5K.

flop Tc 9h 3h

BB all in, UTG+2 all in, me all in.

coquettishly

Great word.

PS What do you think about reraising preflop after BB bumps it and EP calls? Part of me thinks it might ensure you more action (from AK that misses the flop or QQ who has to deal with an overcard); part of me thinks that it lets them off easy...

hawt. KK and... ? I like reading these kinds of hands, very amusing. When you put the results up, make sure to include somebody's cursing at you for not playing AA stronger, and your subsequent laughter.

Not that it matters, but most opponents would look at you moving in after the 2nd raise as a steal.

I agree - moving in there "looks" like AK or JJ/QQ to a lot of players. Great flop for you though and I like the call obviously. Hopefully TT didn't take you down...

a couple others have already mentioned it but it seems like a great spot to push after the BB re-raises. i dont really see the benefit of just calling here. BB will be getting better than 2-1 and will most likely call. is there a hand or range of hands that utg+2 can have against which calling is better?

sure. utg+2 will probably fold most anything if i push it all in.

bb is likely going to push on any flop. i think i have a much better shot at getting utg's money into the pot on the flop facing a fire at any flop bet from a shortish stack, than i do all in before the flop.

Coquettish: backward, bashful, blushing, demure, diffident, evasive, flirtatious, humble, kittenish, overmodest, prudish, rabbity, reserved, retiring, self-effacing, shrinking, shy, skittish, timid, unassertive...

Now when you say you called coquettishly, were you meaning more in the sense of timidly or flirtatiously? I feel like you paid someone off on this hand, so I hope you called flirtatiously so maybe you at least got dinner and a movie out of it...

utg+2 drags monster pot with TT? that just throws me off, i think he either has that or QQ.
