Two hands, humbly submitted for review
Results are irrelevant. I'm looking to be corrected if I am making mistakes.
Let's assume I have no player reads. All comments welcome! P.S. Can someone give me instructions or a link to instructions on how to do a play-along? Re: Two hands, humbly submitted for review
Hand 1: easy fold.
Hand 2: this one's harder. I'd probably raise preflop, but I've gotten pretty aggro with mid pocket pairs lately. The rest of it seems OK, but I'm not too confident in winning this hand. I can't for the life of me figure out what Button has that he's calling with and not raising on this board....??? |

Re: Two hands, humbly submitted for review
Button is an ultra-superstation, and she won't raise without the nuts. Plus she caught me overplaying my ak about 40 hands ago, so now she's calling me down with q high or better.

Re: Two hands, humbly submitted for review
Keep in mind, Im still learning and dont know squat.
On the first hand, the fact that the BB is calling your 2 bet would lead me to believe that he is on the flush draw otherwise I would assume he would 3 bet. The check on the river is what I would have done to avoid the check-raise since I am fairly sure he was on the draw, or although less likely had the top pair. I think it was well played since he was not reraising you if he did I would have folded. The second hand is a bit tougher. It is tough to check when the board is paired and there is an over card with people calling all the way down--Honestly I usually check and fold a pp when overcards hit. I think I would have tried to get rid of this one earlier. |

Re: Two hands, humbly submitted for review
OK, thanks, but... In the first hand I folded before the flop to a raise on my right.

Re: Two hands, humbly submitted for review
For what its worth.
Hand 1)good fold. Hand 2) I have run into this myself. You are probably beaten. People in these low limit games dont seem to raise with an over pair for some reason. I would and have played it the same way. If that info is worth anything 2 u. |

My mistake I thought...
I just saw the Red font and assumed it was you. Forgive me, I am new to this.

Re: Two hands, humbly submitted for review
Hand 1: 3-bet or fold. However, reserve the 3-bet for when you know the raiser is a maniac. Good fold.
Hand 2: Once you've bet the flop (which seems fine... only the J overcard), you pretty much have to bet the turn as you did (since another J came out). The river is a tough decision. You're going to get raised if someone's been slowplaying the J (which I see a lot). Nobody's going to lay a K down here, either. However, I am guessing that the correct play is betting the river. I think you win this hand more than half the time at this point... so let's call it a value bet. Am I wrong? |
