Default 99 on the button, 4-handed

Weekly $25 buy-in (w/ rebuys) home game. Four of us left -- we're all in the money. 1st gets 55%, 2nd gets 25%, 3rd gets 15%, 4th gets 5% (their buy-in, essentially).

300/600 blinds with 100 ante. Our Hero has ~6500 and is on the button with pocket 9's.

UTG, a solid player who has survived several all-ins to build up his stack, pushes for about 7500. The SB (player to Hero's left every hand) is the chipleader (~17K) and loves to bully; the BB (11K) is okay and predictable. Blinds go up every 15 minutes.

What's Hero's play (and "is it close")?

How loose do you think his pushing range is? If you think he's pushing like, 44+, A7s+, A9o+, KJs+ then it's very close (marginally +$EV). If you think it's a bit wider then that, then you should call.
