Default meh, isolating = right play? 5/10

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $10 BB (6 handed) internettexasholdem.com

BB ($1420.60)
Hero ($2007)
MP ($1763)
CO ($2387)
Button ($1666)
SB ($365)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
Hero raises to $40, 1 fold, CO calls $40, Button calls $40, 1 fold, BB calls $30.

Flop: ($165) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)
BB bets $70, Hero raises to $300

villain is bad, opens pf constantly anywhere from 4xBB - 15xBB, and calls re-raises with stuff like Q3s and calls short stack all-ins with Q7s

also has the tendency to re-raise any mini-raise pf

ive been playing very tight due to basically no cards

he will pay off if i hit though, and i count my T and J outs as probably good too

do i bet a blank turn if he checks to me?
what if he bets a blank turn for 1/2 pot? 3/4 pot? full?

Against this guy, I think you should just call the flop.

win a ton by hitting straights. they always get paid, often because they are giving out no good two-pairs.

call. then whine later about how you can't hit a 21-outer.

yea but no one feels like overcalls from people behind me are bad news? is it a bad idea to try to isolate the chip spewer?

what if i get raised by someone behind me? CO is good, no reads on button, but if i get raised, pushing there is awkward too with stack sizes....

Overcalls are fine because the value of your hand isn't in the overcards, but rather the flush/straight draws. Also a dream scenario might be monkey bets, you call, someone raises, monkey calls, you shove.
