firepay is asking me for my social security #?

i had a firepay acct several years ago and dont recall the sign up procedures. i let it lapse. i have seen some posts were new neteller accts are asked the same thing. its prolly just a security thing. whether you want to disclose is a personal issue.

Yes firepay asks for your ss#. They use it to access credit info which they use to gennerate security questions for you to answer. Firepay cust service is very helpful, if you call them you should be able to get an explaination over the phone.

I had to call Neteller and give them my SSN when I got an account there. They said they couldn't verify it because I had no credit history and had never taken out any loans or anything.
