Default 2/4 NL...Bluff gone wrong, and then...

Normally play $100 full on Party, but tonight I took $280 to 6max and and decided to play around a bit.

Villain is weak tightish, but when he has a monster he can't wait to get his money in.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 5 handed) converter

MP ($390.1)
Button ($403.4)
SB ($312.7)
BB ($378.65)
Hero ($242.38)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $2.
Hero calls $4, MP calls $4, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">SB (poster) raises to $13</font>, BB calls $11, Hero calls $11, MP calls $11.

Flop: ($60) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">BB bets $25</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $60</font>, MP folds, SB folds, BB calls $35.

Turn: ($180) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $100</font>, BB calls $100.

River: ($380) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Perfect river. There's no way I'm checking down and admitting defeat now, so I decide to shove my last $60 in and pray...

BB checks, Hero calls $67.38 (All-In), BB folds!!

Final Pot: $447.38

Results in white below: <font color="#FFFFFF">
Hero has 9s 7s (one pair, jacks).
Outcome: Hero wins $447.38. </font>

I showed the hand. Villain didn't say what he had, I'm guessing AQ?.

Is there any merit to this play or am I playing above my skill level? How about if I had $150 or so left on the river?

About 10 hands later (with more donkish play from me), this hand came up:

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (6 max, 6 handed) converter

UTG ($393)
MP ($463.7)
CO ($399.5)
Button ($420.55)
SB ($403)
Hero ($344.38)

Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $2.
<font color="#CC3333">UTG raises to $20</font>, <font color="#666666">4 folds</font>, Hero calls $340.38 (All-In), UTG calls $324.38.

Flop: ($690.76) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players, 1 all-in)</font>

Turn: ($690.76) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players, 1 all-in)</font>

River: ($690.76) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players, 1 all-in)</font>

Final Pot: $690.76

Results in white below: <font color="#FFFFFF">
Hero has Kc Kh (two pair, kings and sixes).
UTG has Jd Jh (two pair, jacks and sixes).
Outcome: Hero wins $680.76.</font>

Converter screwed up the pot size for some reason.

Did I get lucky or is this a legitimate move with a bad table image?

BZ.

KK shove is not a bad play, yesterday I shoved and got called by 77 for 50 more BB's. 97s, I woulnd't mkae a habit of mkaing these bluffs.....sup -ev. My guess is AQ didn't fold, but more like KQ or T9 or something silly like that

I don't think the river bluff push was worth it surely you'll get called far too often for this to be profitable. However the push with KK is just a greta move and exactly the kind of move that expolits average players most effectively online. Your previous play was annoying enough to stand out in that players mind and he clearly had you pegged as an idiot, huge overbet preflop fits tht image perfectly so he can't credit you with anything. Downside is you'll lose hands you dominate like smaller pps and Ax but then they were never goign to give you a load of action without beating you anyway.
